Terms of Service

1. API Access and License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Food API for your applications. This license is conditioned on your compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.

2. Subscription Plans and Billing

2.1 Available Plans

We offer several plans including a free tier and paid plans with expanded rate limits and features. Current pricing is displayed on the pricing page.

2.2 Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated herein.

2.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain API access until then.

2.4 Refunds

Refund requests may be submitted within 7 days of a charge to api@c0r.ai. We review each request on a case-by-case basis.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Exceed your plan's rate limits or attempt to circumvent rate limiting
• Resell or sublicense API access to third parties
• Use the API to build a competing food database or API service
• Reverse-engineer the API, its data sources, or underlying models
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use automated tools to harvest data beyond normal API usage patterns

4. API Keys and Security

You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. Do not embed API keys in client-side code or public repositories. We are not responsible for charges or data breaches resulting from compromised keys. Report suspected key compromise immediately to api@c0r.ai.

5. Data and Accuracy

Nutritional data is sourced from Open Food Facts and other public datasets, and may be supplemented with AI-generated content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the data provided. You are responsible for validating data before use in health-critical applications.

6. Intellectual Property

The API, documentation, and our proprietary enrichment algorithms are owned by Erarta Labs. Open Food Facts data is subject to the Open Database License (ODbL). You must comply with applicable data licenses when redistributing data obtained through the API.

7. Service Availability

We target 99.5% monthly uptime for paid plans. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for downtime. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where possible.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your API access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or abuse of the Service. You may terminate your account at any time from your dashboard.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ERARTA LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

11. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
